Honestly, after having watched the video multiple times, I do not believe that these practitioners are of a special needs or differently-abled persuasion based on the differences between their attempts at Karate and their normal movements.
Truthfully, the amount of issues that I have regarding the practitioners “abilities” in this demonstration video near the dozens – and to be fair, I stopped counting after a a minute. Although there are no clearly defined capabilities delineated in what is considered appropriate for the different ranks in many of the modern Karate systems, I do believe that there are commonalities such as a good sense of balance, coordination, targeting accuracy and control – these are all missing…
I do not want to belittle the video, but I did state that there are video’s that I will put up for review of what not to do, or make grander claims than what they deliver. After watching all of the participants, I hope that the quality of their Black Belt level includes personal betterment and achievements (read: becoming better than they were before) with a strong focus on social betterment as well, as I am sorely disappointed in the basic physical capabilities presented.
As mentioned in the description of videos and literature, this video gets a score of 1 of 4.
